Eucalyptus Epsom Salt Bath Recipe

Ease your tired, achy muscles with this energizing epsom salt bath recipe.

This refreshing recipe for making bath salts helps relieve pain by reducing inflammation, relaxing tight muscles and lifting your mood. You may also find it’s good for relieving headaches.

In addition, lemongrass, eucalyptus and rosemary clear your mind and revive your flagging energy – a great pick-me-up when you’re feeling down.

Use this epsom salt bath recipe when you have a cold to help clear your stuffy nose and chest congestion.

Eucalyptus Epsom Salt Bath Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Epsom Salt
  • 1/2 cup Baking Soda
  • 6 drops Bergamot OR Palmarosa essential oil
  • 6 drops Lemongrass essential oil
  • 2 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
  • 2 drops Rosemary essential oil
  • Optional: 10 drops green food coloring

Directions

Mix Epsom salt and baking soda together in a bowl using a metal spoon (a wooden spoon will absorb the essential oils and be ruined.)

Drop in the essential oils and food coloring, placing each drop in its own little spot on top of the salts. Stir until thoroughly mixed.

Store mixture in a dark glass or PET plastic jar. Let cure at least 24 hours before using.

Use about one cup of homemade bath salts per bath. This salt bath recipe makes enough for three baths.

Cautions

Do not increase the amount of essential oils. A little goes a long way, and Eucalyptus can be toxic at high concentrations. Also, do not use this salt bath recipe if you have high blood pressure or epilepsy (eucalyptus and rosemary are contraindicated for them.)
