Description: A tall shrub, rarely a tree that produces a nut. Hazel is common in woods and scrub throughout Europe. There are many cultivated varieties. The leaves, bark and nut all have medicinal properties. The hazel is rich in oleic acid, vitamin E, protein and minerals.
Healing Properties: Helps varicose veins, anaemia, circulatory disorders, decreases cholesterol, stimulates the nervous system, tones and tightens the skin and helps with acne and haemorrhoids. Can also act as a diuretic.
